DIN 1.2419 Cold Work Tool Steel is an oil hardening tool steel which is supplied in the annealed condition a characterized by its characteristics of offering good durability. 1.2419 Steel is with excellent wear resistance and its ability to hold a good cutting edge. 1.2419 Steel is a good quality general purpose tool steel often used where the expense of a high carbon high chromium tool steel.

Applications
Cutting and punching tools for sheet thickness up to 6mm, also for paper and plastics, roll shear blades for sheet thickness up to 6mm, small bending and drawing tools, thread cutting tools, reamers, woodworking tools, gauges and other measuring tools, small inserts, and plastic molds.


Heat Treatment

Annealing
720 to 750 °C
After the annealing, hardness max. 255 HB.

Quenching
800 to 830 °C
quenching in Oil.

Tempering
150 to 250 °C
After tempering hardness HRC|100 °C: 64.

Normalizing
At Normalizing temperature, then cool in furnace.
