Characteristics
1. It is a low-alloy steel containing chromium and molybdenum and nickel as strengthening agents,
with excellent hardenability, strength and toughness.
2. Pre-heat and post-weld stress relief are recommended for welding of this alloy. Welding should not
be carried out in the hardened and tempered condition.



Applications

This alloy is suited to production of highly stressed components of large cross section for aircraft, automotive and general engineering applications, such as forged propeller shafts, connecting rods,
gear shafts, crankshafts and landing gear components.
